SHAWNEE, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team closed out a fifth straight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championship in record-breaking fashion Sunday afternoon.
Stevens finished the two-day event with a total score of 586 strokes, a record-low for the program. Dating back to the start of the MAC Freedom Championship, the Ducks score of 586 was the lowest ever posted since the Tournament started in 2005. Stevens finished 29 shots clear of Arcadia (615) and 35 shots ahead of Lebanon Valley (621). No other team finished within 50 strokes of the Ducks.
Stevens' five competitors -- Ben Slicker, Brock Dickson, Sebastian Beaver, Arav Tank, Maxime Debets – comprised the entirety of the All-Conference First Team, posting the top five scores among the 40 competitors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Slicker was the only competitor under par, finishing the tournament 3-under, eight shots clear of the field. Slicker birdied the 3rd, 6th, and 8th holes as part of a two-under front nine on Sunday.
