HOW IT HAPPENED
Sebastian Beaver started his day with birdies at the par-four 2nd and 5th and headed to the turn at even par for the day. After stumbling at the 10th and 11th, the senior responded with birdies on four of his final six holes – the par-three 13th, the par-four 14th, the par-four 16th, and the par-four 18th. He held a two-shot lead on the field until Kean's Julian Boyer made eagle at the 18th to tie at one-under.

Ridhit Beri bookended his first official collegiate round with birdies at the par-four 1st and 18th. In between, he also birdied the par-four 14th and parred eight holes, including the par-four 10th, the only Duck to do so, finishing tied for 12th with a six-over 76.

Alex Carey parred eight holes during his round, including the par-five 7th, the only Duck to make par on the hole. The junior also played the final seven holes at just two-over, finishing with an 82 (+12).

Justin Wen bookended his first official collegiate round with pars at the 1st and 18th, parring an additional three holes on the front nine AND back nine, carding 84 (+14). Competing in just his third event since the start of last season, senior Maxime Debets matched Carey with three pars on the front nine and five pars on the back nine, including the par-four 17th, one of just two Ducks (Beaver) to par the hole, finishing with an 85,

Playing as an individual, Brandon Apilado posted a five-over 75 in his first official collegiate round. The first-year was the only Duck to birdie the par-four 15th and joined Beaver and Beri with birdies at the 18th.
