Charles Papendick was named the head men’s golf coach in 2017 and is in his ninth year at the helm in 2025-26. 

Papendick became the program's all-time leader in tournament victories just four years into his tenure on Castle Point.

Papendick led the Ducks to their fifth straight MAC Freedom championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in the 2024-25 season. The team finished in 35th place at the NCAA Tournament. 

In the 2020-21 season, Papendick was named the MAC Coach of the Year after leading Stevens to the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship and an NCAA Championship appearance for the first time in program history. Additionally, Papendick led the Ducks to back-to-back third place finishes in the Empire 8 Championships in his first two seasons.

Papendick Head Coach

  • Helped the Ducks win a program-record three tournaments in the 2018-19 season and followed it up with two tournament wins in the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 academic year
  • Set a school-record four-round score of 1,255 in the 2018-19 Empire 8 Championship 
  • Led Stevens to a third place finish in the Empire 8 Championship both the 2018-19 and 2017-18 Empire 8 Championships

  • Served as the Men’s Club President for three terms, as well as treasurer and secretary 
  • Served as handicap chairman multiple times and tournament co-chair in 2017 
  • Club champion eight times: 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2021, 2023 & 2024, & 2025.
  • Worked closely with the United States Golf Association coordinating and correcting issues regarding course re-ratings for the Old Tappan Golf Club

  • Serves as the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee member for the Middle Atlantic Conference
  • Serves as the Men's Golf Chair for the Middle Atlantic Conference
  • Competed in various USGA mid-amateur qualifying tournaments, as well as the New Jersey State Golf Association tournaments such as the NJ State Open
  • Was a medalist in the 2017 BC Amateur Championship
  • Competed in the Metropolitan Golf Association IKE tournament on 3 occasions 
  • Assisted at the US Open in scoring operations at Bethpage and Merion in 2009 and 2013, respectively
  • Was a successful pitcher at Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University
  • Achieved his Bachelor's degree in communications and advertising from Fairleigh Dickinson in 1985
  • Coached baseball at his alma mater Don Bosco Prep for three seasons
