Jessica Clausnitzer begins her second year as a men’s and women’s cross country/track and field assistant coach at Stevens focusing primarily on the hurdles and pole vault. In her first year at Stevens she helped develop ten ECAC qualifiers and six school record holders.
Clausnitzer was a student-athlete at the University of North Dakota, specializing in pole vault and hurdles. She was a two year team captain and named Track and Field MVP in 2008 and 2009. In 2008, she earned two NCAA All-American awards in the pole vault and won the 60-meter hurdles at the North Central Conference Indoor Championship. In 2009, at the Great West Conference Indoor Championships she won titles in both the 60-meter hurdles and the pole vault. That same year she also earned a conference title in the pole vault at the Great West Conference Outdoor Championships. Clausnitzer holds the University of North Dakota’s indoor and outdoor pole vault records.
Clausnitzer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Studies in 2009. She then moved on to the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and earned a Master of Arts in Asian Studies in 2011.
Clausnitzer also received an All-Academic award from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) and was part of the women’s team community service award at North Dakota.
In both indoor and outdoor, she was named to the North Central Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Clausnitzer currently resides in Lake Hopatcong, N.J.
