Joe Reed

Joe Reed will begin his second season as an assistant coach for the track & field teams for the upcoming 2013-14 academic school year. Reed landed at Stevens after one season as an assistant at his alma mater, SUNY Oneonta.

Over his short stint at Oneonta, Reed was named NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Men’s Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year and mentored a men’s outdoor student-athlete to the 200-meter National Championship. He also helped develop nine conference champions, four All-Americans, two NCAA Atlantic Region Track Athletes of the Year and two USTFCCCA All-Academic individuals.

Reed was charged with developing sprint, hurdle and relay training programs, as well as designing strength and conditioning workouts for specific event groups. He also helped with fundraising opportunities during Oneonta’s annual golf tournament and Dining for Championships event. In 2011, Reed obtained a USATF Level 1 Certification.

A 2009 graduate from Oneonta with a bachelor’s in Music Industry, Reed was a seven-time All-American and was a member of the indoor 4x400-meter relay National Championship team in 2009. He was also a SAAC member for three years at Oneonta.Â
