  Stevens Institute of Technology head men’s lacrosse coach Gene Peluso announced  the hiring of Dan Lederer as an assistant coach in January 2024. In his role Lederer will also serve as offensive coordinator.
 
Arriving on Castle Point with a lengthy resume with over 20 years of coaching and playing experience, Lederer most recent coaching position was as the head coach of Madison (N.J.) High School, where the Belmar, New Jersey resident led the program to 21 victories and a pair of second round NJSIAA state playoff appearances. For his efforts, he was tabbed the NJ.com Bianchi Division Coach of the Year in 2022. Lederer also served time on the sidelines as an assistant at both Chatham and Madison high schools and Don Bosco Prep, while also leading the programs at West Orange (N.J.) high school and Ridgewood High School (freshmen team). He also been the high school director with the N.J. Riot Lacrosse Club.
 
In addition to time on the sidelines at the secondary level, Lederer was the assistant principal at the William Annin Middle School since 2014, while also earning tenure as a physical education and health teacher at Whippany’s Memorial Junior School. He also taught the same subjects at the Southern Boulevard School in Chatham.
  
As an undergraduate, Lederer was a four-year starter at the University of Scranton, earning First Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference honors in 1997. He was a team captain and represented the Royals at the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South All-Star Game. Following his time on the collegiate playing field, Lederer then patrolled the sidelines and FDU-Florham, Montclair State University and most-recently, Drew University.
 
Lederer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Scranton in 1999 with minors in coaching and criminal justice. He went on to complete his Master of Arts degree in teaching at Montclair State in 2002. Lederer also holds teaching certification in the state of New Jersey in K-12 physical education and health and earned his New Jersey Principal Certification in education leadership through the NJEXCEL program in 2014.
