Veronica Montrose enters her eighth season at Stevens as an assistant coach for the track & field programs after being hired in November of 2013.

Montrose comes to Stevens after spending one season as an assistant coach at her alma mater, SUNY Cortland. She is responsible for the sprinters and the hurdlers during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Montrose saw her first student-athlete, hurdler Shane Chiaravalle, qualify for the 2016 NCAA Outdoor National Championships. Chiaravalle finished 10th in the 400-meter hurdles at the event.

While at Cortland, she implemented workouts for sprinters as well as coached and supervised weight lifting and conditioning sessions. She also served as an assistant with the Strength and Conditioning department at Cortland this fall where created workout plans for both the men's hockey and lacrosse teams.

She graduated from Cortland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 2012 and completed her Masters in Health Education in the spring of 2014 at Cortland.

As a student-athlete with the Red Dragons, Montrose was a two-year captain and earned All-ECAC honors three times in relay events during her career at Cortland, including winning a title in the 4 x 100 relay at the 2011 ECAC Div. III Outdoor Championships. She also was a member of three winning relay teams at the SUNYAC Championships.
