Stevens Institute of Technology head softball coach Emily Kaczmarek announced the hiring of Katie Prizer as the program’s first full-time assistant coach in July 2019. Prizer was most recently a graduate assistant coach at Clarkson University.

Prizer spent two seasons with the Golden Knights and played a key role in the development of three National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Northeast Region players: Summer Lancette, Raeanna Dixon and Michelle Winn. During Prizer’s time in Potsdam, New York, four players received All-Liberty League recognition and current rising sophomore Olivia Zoeller was tabbed the league’s co-Rookie of the Year in 2019. Additionally, the Clarkson softball program set a record for victories in a single season (28) in 2018. The Lake Saint Louis, Missouri native was also charged with preparing offensive and defensive game plans, developing off-season strength and conditioning programs, and creating scouting reports, which included personnel profiles and tendencies. Prizer also served a four-month stint as interim head coach.

Prior to entering the coaching ranks at Clarkson, Prizer played two seasons at Illinois College, totaling 77 hits for the Lady Blues, with a pair of homers and 39 RBIs over 72 games. During her senior season, Prizer ranked second on the team in hitting (.323) and third in RBIs (17) and finished with a .979 fielding percentage. Prior to her time in Jacksonville, Prizer was a two-sport athlete at Southeastern Illinois College, playing both basketball and softball for two seasons.

Prizer graduated from Illinois College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Clarkson.
