Ryan Vander May is in his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Stevens softball program after joining the coaching staff in the Spring of 2018.
Vander May was most recently the varsity head coach of both softball and basketball at the Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, & Science Charter School in Jersey City, as well as the assistant volleyball coach for the Mustangs.
He has also made coaching stops at Cedar Grove High school and De Paul Catholic High School, and still serves as a physical education teacher at the M.E.T.S. Charter School. On the club side, he has worked with the New Jersey Fight Club Team and the New Jersey Spartans.
As a baseball player, Vander May earned a scholarship at the University of Rhode Island and also competed at William Paterson University. He also played at Seton Hall Prep – arguably the best program in the state - where he helped the Pirates win two state championships and earn the No. 1 ranking among all high schools in the nation following the 2007 season.
