Rachel Cortez

Rachel Cortez ’s first season as a volunteer assistant was one for the books, as Stevens captured the NIWFA Division III National Title and had the best record in program history at 25-4. In addition, Cortez helped senior Danielle Bisson set a new record for foil wins in a season with 47, breaking the record of 45 previously held by Cortez herself.

Cortez returned to Castle Point as a volunteer coach after a great career as a foil fencer for the Ducks from 2002-07. Cortez holds the school record for career foil wins in the three-weapon era with 95 and also holds the single season mark with 45 wins in the 2005-06 season.

Cortez graduated from the Charles V. Schaefer School of Engineering in 2007, and currently works as a mechanical engineer in New York City.
