Kevin Leacock returns for his fourth season as a volunteer assistant coach on Castle Point in 2015.
“I think that we are very fortunate to have Kevin join our staff,” said Parker. “Hecomes from very different backgrounds, being in Division I, but has been tremendously successful at every endeavor and that is something you realize immediately with any interaction. I am looking forward to working with him and having him add unique individual qualities to our program.”
Prior to serving as an assistant at Division I Rutgers this past season, Leacock was the head women’s soccer coach at New Jersey Institute of Technology from 2008-2010 and assistant coach there from 2005 through 2008. Leacock was also heavily involved in NJIT’s transition to Division I in 2006.
The Long Island University graduate is also a staff coach with the Arsenal/World Class Soccer Club - which competes in the Elite Clubs National League - and was an assistant with the U17 U.S. girl's national team. He will assist in all aspects of Stevens team preparation and administration.
What they are saying about Leacock and Gebhard:
“Kevin will be a great addition to Stevens. Beyond his playing experience at the highest levels, he has extensive experience teaching and developing players. He has coached at the NCAA D-I level as well as helping me with the U17 US Women’s National program. Along with Katie Gebhard, they will be a great combination. As important as it is to have the right players, it is just as important to have outstanding leadership in the coaching staff and that is what is happening at Stevens.”
- Seton Hall Head Coach Kazbek Tambi
“I have known Kevin since he was a student at LIU and offered to help with my training sessions there. He is organized, hard working and has a keen awareness of how a team can best operate both on and off the field.”
