Melissa Koster recently completed her second season on the Palisade after being named to the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer coaching staff in the summer of 2018. The Ducks have won conference titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of her first two seasons on Castle Point - including a trip to the Sectional Round in 2019. Stevens has posted a record of 33-7-1 and have achieved consensus end of season national rankings in her tenure.

Her responsibilities include running most of the office’s day to day operations as well as functioning as the program’s recruiting coordinator. Koster has helped develop and grow the program’s profile as well as advancing the enrollment and curriculums of the annual clinics and summer Student-Athlete Experience. She has been part of two conference coaching staff of the year awards as well as the regional honor in 2018.
Koster, who was an award-winning midfielder at nearby Montclair State University, joined the Ducks staff after serving two seasons as an assistant women's soccer coach at Moravian College. While at Moravian, she worked with head coach Jeff Ykoruk to lead the Greyhounds to a 19-13-2 mark, including a trip to the Landmark Conference Championship match in 2016. The Hamilton, N.J. native completed her Master of Education degree from Moravian after earning her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State in 2016.

At Montclair State, Koster spent 2015 as an assistant coach on Patrick Naughter's staff and helped lead the Red Hawks to a fourth-consecutive NCAA Tournament and a 15-4-2 record.Â
On the field, she was an NSCAA Second Team All American and the New Jersey Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year her senior season for the 2014 NCAA Round of 16 squad. She garnered two All-NJAC First Team Awards as well as three NCAA Tournament appearances in her career. Her teams posted a remarkable 68-8-8 ledger.
