Former Stevens standout Melanie Volk returns to Castle Point to begin her first season as a graduate assistant coach for the Ducks’ women’s volleyball team. She will work primarily with the team’s middle blockers. A 2009 graduate of the Institute, Volk put together one of the most decorated careers in program history, helping Stevens compile a 134-22 overall mark during her tenure on the Hudson.
A three-time all-conference honoree, Volk was named the Empire 8 Player of the Year in 2008, while also earning American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region and honorable mention All-America recognition.
The Thompsons Station, Tenn. native currently ranks second all-time in the program’s career kills (1,495), kills per set (3.11), and points (1,795.5) charts, while ranking third in digs (1,431) and points per set (3.74), and fourth in block assists (167).
