Joe Favia is in his 10th year as the head coach of the Stevens wrestling program. He has compiled a 105-45 dual meet overall record as head coach entering the 2023-24 season with 18 victories coming against ranked opponents.

Favia coached the programs lone National Champion, with Brett Kaliner earning the accolade at the 149 lbs. mark during the 2021-22 campaign. Across the last three seasons, the Ducks have been NCAA Regional Champions in each of those three years, earning top ten marks in two of those tournaments. The Ducks have won every MAC Championship since joining the conference.

In his first six years with the program, Favia led the Ducks to six consecutive conference championships (five Centennial, one MAC) as well as compiling a conference dual meet record of 33-2 over the first five seasons while competing in the Centennial Conference. Additionally, Favia led Stevens to their first-ever NCAA East Region title in 2015-16 and also won the NCAA Southeast Regional Title in 2019-20. Favia also led the Ducks to a fourth-place finish in the NCAA Championship in 2017-18.

Favia was also a standout on the mat as a student-athlete for the Ducks. In his career he was a three-year captain, earned All-America honors in his junior and senior seasons, and was a NWCA Academic All-American during his senior campaign.
