Stevens Institute of Technology head men’s and women’s swimming coach Paul Hughes announced the hiring of Adam Schneider as an assistant coach in July 2019. Schneider was most recently an assistant coach at the University of Redlands.
Schneider spent one season with the Bulldogs, helping guide the men’s team to a third-place finish in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and the women to fourth. Under Schneider’s watch, six student-athletes garnered All-SCIAC recognition and then-senior Wendy McAleer reached the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in three events: 100 Fly, 200 Fly and the 200 Individual Medley.
Prior to his one-year stint in California, Schneider spent four seasons at The College of New Jersey, where the Cherry Hill, New Jersey native served as a recruiting coordinator, in addition to his time on the sidelines. While at TCNJ, Schneider coached a pair of national championship-winning relay teams and sent one swimmer to the 2016 USA Olympic Trials. During his time in Ewing, 12 Lions captured individual All-America honors and nine different relays teams achieved a top-eight national finish.
As an undergraduate, Schneider was a 14-time All-American and was the New Jersey Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year in 2013 and was the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2010.
Away from collegiate swimming, Schneider served as a coach for both the Eastern Express Swim Club and the Greater Philadelphia Area Aquatic Club.
Schneider graduated from TCNJ with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
