Frank Fisher

Frank Fisher was named the Faculty Athletics Representative at Stevens in January of 2020. Fisher arrived at Stevens in 2004 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. 

In his time at Stevens, Fisher has held the title of Department Director / Department Chair of Mechanical Engineering as well as the Co-Director of the Nanotechnology Graduate Program (NGP). Additionally, Fisher has three patents, eight research publications, and has contributed to a total of five books.

Prior to coming to Stevens, Fisher served as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Northwestern University after achieving his PhD in Mechanical Engineering, a Master's of Arts in Learning Sciences and a Master of Sciences in Mechanical Engineering all from Northwestern. Fisher attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate degree where he attained his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics as well as his Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.Professional Honors and Awards

  • Was the Co-Director of the Nanotechnology Graduate Program (NGP) from the Spring of 2007 to the Summer of 2015
  • Started his career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and was in that role from August 2004 to August 2010

  • Was a post-doctoral Research Associate at the Biologically Inspired Materials Center from 2002-2004
  • Served as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 1995-1999 and 2000-2002
  • Was a member of the BIMat (Biologically Inspired Materials) Center research team at Northwestern
  • Achieved his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in December 2002
  • Earned his Master of Arts in Learning Sciences in December 2000
  • Attained his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in December 1998
