A staple of the Stevens Athletics department, Michael Lippencott has been with Stevens since 1992. He has been an integral part of the unprecedented growth and success the program has seen during that time.

In his time with the Ducks, Lippencott has served as the head baseball coach, the Intramural/Recreation Director, the Athletic Facility Manager, the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities/Operations and finally in his current role as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations.

Lipp Associate AD
  • Lippencott, more commonly known as Lipp, coordinates all athletic facility scheduling (Physical Education, Athletics, Recreation) and manages all aspects of operations for every Stevens intercollegiate athletic event
  • Played a key role in the change from grass to artificial turf at the DeBaun Athletic Complex
  • Within two years, Lipp was promoted to the newly created Associate Athletic Director and now represents the department at professional, civic, charitable, and alumni events and serves on numerous University-wide committees
  • Mentors coaches on daily preparations, team challenges, and individual player issues and has managed a 20-percent growth in the total number of student-athletes over the last five yearsLipp is responsible for all contracts of Stevens’ 26 varsity sports and coordinates transportation for all athletic contests and practices and also does all event and practice scheduling for every Stevens team
  • Serves as a liaison between the Office of Sports Medicine and coaching staff, and plays an integral role in hiring, supervision, and termination of all athletics staff
  • Also serves on the department’s senior administrative staff council to assist in formulating and implementing policies, procedures, decision-making, and general oversight.
  • Lipp has served as an ECAC Tournament Director for men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer and has also helped in bringing in numerous professional teams and organizations to practice and use the Stevens facilities.
Lipp Stevens Baseball HC
  • Compiled 74 total wins to sit fourth in all-time program victories
  • Set a new school record for wins in a season in 1996, 1999 and 2000
  • Named Independent Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and guided Stevens to their first-ever IAC Championship in 1994
  • Coached Stevens Hall of Famer Owen Clark who owns the school record for single season slugging percentage and was the program’s second CoSIDA Academic All-America selection
  • Lipp coached a total of four NJCBA All-Stars and 31 All-Conference selections including three Conference Player of the Year winners
  • In addition to his duties as the head baseball coach, Lippencott served as the intramural/recreation director from 1991-94 and scheduled and ran 26 different intramural sports on campus. The program more than doubled during his four years in this role

  • Earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from what was then known as William Patterson College in 1998
  • Went on to receive a master’s degree from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) in 1990
  • Had previous collegiate coaching stops which include the head coach at Hunter College and a graduate assistantship at Trenton State
  • He also served as the coach for Cresskill and North Bergen high schools
