Stevens Institute of Technology Athletics

Alysha Giarra is in her first season as an assistant coach at Stevens Institute of Technology. A 2010 graduate of the Ducks’ Empire 8 rival Elmira College and a college teammate of current Stevens assistant Bridget Catanese, Giarra is familiar with Stevens and knowledgeable about the entire Empire 8 conference.

Giarra ranks eighth on Elmira’s all-time list of assist leaders with 179, helped the Soaring Eagles to a 21-7 record during the 2006-07 season and was the team’s captain as a senior.  She was the assistant camp director of the Elmira College Basketball Camp from 2006 through 2009. Giarra’s work there included creating the daily camp schedule and being responsible for the health and safety of all campers.

The Ridgefield Park, N.J. native also served as head camp counselor at the Big East’s St. John’s University Basketball Camp in New York City in 2009. There, she led both the campers and staff in all camp activities.
