WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Freshman midfielder Chris McGreevy (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams) had two goals and one assist as 16th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology earned a 3-0 win over Wilkes University on Saturday in a men’s soccer match at Ralston Field.

Stevens, ranked 16th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III poll, earned its ninth straight win to improve to 10-1-2.  The 10 wins also marked the first time that Stevens has recorded double digits in wins in consecutive seasons.  The Ducks were 17-4-2 last year.

McGreevy, who figured in all three goals, gave Stevens the lead at the 14:09 mark.  Sophomore Drew DePalma (Stockholm, N.J./Pope John XXIII) sent a cross into the penalty area and freshman Nick Gkionis (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) headed a shot on net.  Wilkes goalkeeper Dominik Proctor punched away the initial shot, but McGreevy knocked in the rebound to put the Ducks ahead.

McGreevy scored from close range off an assist from sophomore Chris Barsky (Holland, Pa./Council Rock) with just 45 seconds left in the first half to give Stevens a two-goal lead at the break.

Junior Josh Ottinger (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) scored his team-leading 11thh goal of the season off an assist from McGreevy at 54:18.

Stevens held a commanding 24-5 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.  Senior goalkeeper Sean Stevenson (Scottsdale, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) stopped four shots to earn the shutout for the Ducks.  Proctor made 12 saves under heavy pressure for the Colonels.

Stevens returns to action on Wednesday, October 15, with a 4 p.m. Skyline Conference game against Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx, N.Y.
