Women's Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Stevens women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision (30-16, 30-16, 30-27) to Vassar College on Wednesday night.  The Ducks had won five of their last six matches prior to the loss to Vassar.

Vassar (11-4) was led by Anita Stavin who had seven kills and eight service aces. Ashley Manlove contributed 21 assists four digs.

Stevens (14-9) received a strong match from junior Margeritte Abdelkodoos (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) who had seven kills and six digs. Sophomore setter Gina Joyce (Fort Myers, Fla./Cypress Lake) had four kills, 16 assists and nine digs. Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Ostroff (North Miami, Fla./Miami Country Day) contributed five kills and 12 digs. Senior middle hitter Vanessa Williams (Forest Hills, N.Y./Townsend Harris) had seven kills and three total blocks.

The Ducks are back in action on Friday, October 10, when they host Lehman College in a 7 p.m. game.
