SCRANTON, Pa. – Senior Liz Baumbach scored eight goals and senior Bridget Lee tied her own school record with seven assists to lead the University of Scranton to an 18-11 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday in a women’s lacrosse game.
Scranton (3-1) led 10-2 at halftime after scoring eight straight goals. The Lady Royal increased their lead to 12 goals before Stevens (6-2) trimmed the deficit in the second half.
Sophomore attack Valerie Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) and sophomore midfielder Kim Mirra (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) scored three goals each to lead the Ducks. Sophomore midfielder Rebecca Quinn (Damascus, Md./Damascus) added two goals and two assists, while senior attack Jess Soltysik (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) had two goals and one assist.
Senior goalkeeper Kristine Conley (Ossining, N.Y./Our Lady of Victory) had eight saves for Stevens.
The Ducks return to action on Sunday, March 30, when they host Eastern Connecticut in a 1 p.m. game.
