HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - The Stevens women's lacrosse team capped off the regular season with a 20-0 shutout of Centenary College in a Knickerbocker Conference game on Saturday. Sophomore Valerie Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) and junior Juliet Pullis (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes) scored five goals each. Sophomore Rebecca Quinn (Damascus, Md./Damascus) added four goals and two assists.
Stevens finishes the regular season at 13-2 overall and 4-0 in Knickerbocker play. The 13 wins are the most in the three-year history of the program, surpassing last season's 11-win total. The Ducks are the top seed for the upcoming Knickerbocker Tournament and will host Kean University in the semifinals on Wednesday. Stevens earned an 8-2 win over Kean on April 5 in the regular-season meeting.
With five goals and two assists, Barnhart finished the regular season with Stevens records of 69 goals and 82 points. Quinn enters postseason play with 29 goals and 17 assists for 46 points. Pullis, who scored a season-high five goals, ended the regular season with a flourish, scoring 10 goals in her last three games.
Stevens received four saves from senior goalkeeper Kristine Conley (Ossining, N.Y./Our Lady of Victory) who recorded the shutout. Conley, who ranked sixth in the nation in goals-against average as of April 20, reduced her average to 5.59 goals per game.
