HOBOKEN, N.J. – Stevens Institute of Technology and No. 15 Kean University played to a 0-0 tie on Wednesday night in men’s soccer action at DeBaun Field.

Stevens which also played NYU to a scoreless tie in its season opener, moves to 1-1-2.  Kean, ranked 15th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III poll, is now 3-1-1.

Stevens hit the crossbar twice on the night.  In the opening minute, sophomore Steve Liebezeit (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) had a deflected shot bounce off the bar.  Sophomore Brian Marks (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) had a shot off the rebound, but Kean goalkeeper Peter-John Falloon made the save.

In the 81st minute, Liebezeit one-timed a shot from the top of the box that caromed hard off the crossbar, but bounced high in the air and Falloon was able to scoop up the loose ball.

Falloon finished with five saves for Kean while senior goalkeeper Sean Stevenson (Scottsdale, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) stopped eight shots for Stevens.
