ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Midfielder Adam Milberg scored on a drive from 35 yards in the 60th minute to lift Muhlenberg College to a 1-0 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday night in a men’s soccer match at the Mule Invitational

Milberg picked up a loose ball near midfield following a long Stevens clear out of the penalty area.  He dribbled in a ripped a knuckling shot from 35 yards that beat goalkeeper Sean Stevenson to the right side of the net at 59:58.

Muhlenberg (2-1) held a 21-12 advantage in shots, including 14-8 in the second half when it applied heavy pressure.  Stevens (1-1-1) had a corner kick in the closing seconds, but was unable to convert.

Stevens sophomore Brian Marks (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) nearly connected from 20 yards midway through the second half, but his shot missed just wide right.

Stevenson stopped six shots for Stevens while Chris Davis made two saves for Muhlenberg.

Stevens returns to action on Wednesday, September 10, when it hosts Kean University in a 7 p.m. game at DeBaun Field.
