Field Hockey falls to Union 7-1

Junior forward Anna Polk tallied her second goal of the season for the Ducks.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Junior forward Anna Polk (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) tallied her second goal of the season, but the Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team fell to Union 7-1 Saturday evening.  With the loss, the first year Stevens’ program falls to 0-7.

The Ducks got on the board first in the game when freshman midfielder Beth Rychik (Pleasant Valley, N.Y./Arlington) assisted Polk on her second goal of the season.

The Dutchmen came back to score four goals in the first half to take a 4-1 lead over Stevens.  Union continued to play hard and notched three more goals in the second half to defeat Stevens 7-1.  Jessica Trotter led the Dutchmen with two goals in the first half and added a third goal in the second.

For the Ducks, Katherine Freed (Rutherford, N.J.) had 21saves.

The Ducks return to action Sunday, October 3 when they host Castleton State at 1:00.
