Siena York-Carr scored three first-half goals to spark Stevens to a 7-0 win over Centenary.

HOBOKEN, N.J. - Sophomore midfielder Siena York-Carr (Davis, Calif./Davis Senior) and senior forward Valerie Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) scored three goals each to power the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team to a 7-0 win over Centenary College on Saturday in a Skyline Conference game at DeBaun Field.

In a showdown of teams tied for first place in the conference, Stevens secured the top seed in the Skyline Tournament, closing the regular season at 16-1-1 overall and 6-0 in league play.  Centenary falls to 12-6 overall and 5-1 in the Skyline Conference.  The Cyclones will be the second seed in the conference tournament.

Stevens exploded for six goals in the game's first 32 minutes.  York-Carr, who recorded her first career hat trick, scored 4:51 into the game off an assist from sophomore Heather Dean (Renton, Wash./Charles Lindbergh).  Barnhart scored less than five minutes later when she took a through ball from junior Coralynn Jones (Stevensville, Mont./Stevensville), split the Centenary defense and beat goalkeeper Krystal McCullen with a shot to the lower left corner.

York-Carr also converted twice on corner kicks from senior midfielder Kim Mirra (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley).  Her goal in the 16th minute gave the Ducks a 3-0 lead.  She completed the hat trick with a goal in the 32nd minute.

Stevens junior Lorrie Brabender (Newark, Del./Padua Academy) scored on a shot from the top of the box in the 23rd minute and Barnhart broke through the Centenary defense again for her second goal in the 25th minute.

Barnhart scored her team-leading 18th goal at the 69:10 mark to put the Ducks ahead 7-0.  With six points on the afternoon, Barnhart increase her career-point total to 198.

Stevens held a 22-8 advantage in shots and a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Sophomore goalkeeper Erica Midttveit (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) stopped four shots to earn her 12th shutout of the season.  Krystal McCullen and Coree Rueter combined for five saves for Centenary.

Stevens is back in action on Wednesday, November 3, when it opens play in the semifinals of the Skyline Conference Tournament at 4 p.m. at DeBaun Field.  The Ducks' first-round opponent will be determined by a game on Sunday between St. Joseph's-Patchogue and Manhattanville.  Centenary also hosts a Skyline semifinal game on Wednesday.
