WAYNE, N.J. - Sophomore Deanna Wall contributed a goal and an assist and helped William Paterson past the Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team, 4-0, in a non-conference game Wednesday afternoon at Wightman Stadium. With the loss, the first-year Stevens program falls to 0-9, while William Paterson improves to 8-2.
The Pioneers opened the scoring 14:27 into the game. Mindy Coxe tallied her career-best second score at the 22:21 mark on an assist by Lianne Byram. Wall scored at the 53:21 mark and assisted on William Paterson’s fourth goal 5:14 later.
Sophomore Katherine Freed (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) played solid in goal for the Ducks and made a career-high 23 saves in the game.
The Ducks return to action Friday, October 8 when they host Wesley at 7 p.m.
