Collin Clatanoff's goal 2:18 into overtime lifted Stevens to a 1-0 win over Kean.

HILLSIDE, N.J. – Junior midfielder Collin Clatanoff (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista) scored 2:18 into the first overtime period to lift fifth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology to a 1-0 win over Kean University on Wednesday in a Metro Region men’s soccer match at the Kean East Campus Field.

Stevens, which earned its highest-ever ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III poll on Monday, improves to 6-0-1.  Kean falls to 5-2-1.

Clatanoff, who entered the game in the 65th minute, took a pass from junior Steve Liebezeit (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) on the left side of the box, beat Kean goalkeeper Bogdan Protas at 92:18 for his second goal of the season.

Stevens outshot Kean 11-6, but the host Cougars held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Celentano (Newton, N.J./Newton) stopped just one shot in earning the shutout for Stevens.  Protas made three saves for Kean.

Stevens returns to action on Saturday, September 25, when it faces defending national champion Trinity University in the opening round of the Southwestern University (Texas) Pirate Invitational.
