HOBOKEN, NJ – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s soccer team scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 victory over Farmingdale State Saturday afternoon at DeBaun Field in Hoboken, NJ. The victory extends the Ducks’ season winning streak to 14 matches and their conference winning streak to 35 matches. Stevens improves to 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the league. Farmingdale State falls to 5-4-1 overall and 3-3 in the conference.

Stevens jumped on the board in the fifth minute of the match when junior Siena York-Carr (Davis, CA) and freshman Audra Clark (Dallas, TX) fed junior Kiley Rode (Montgomery, NY) for Rode’s second goal of the season.

The Ducks capitalized on a corner kick opportunity to build a 2-0 advantage nearly five minutes later. Senior Lorrie Brabender (Newark, DE) found freshman Audra Clark (Dallas, TX), who headed the ball in from five yards out. Clark finished the match with a game-high eight shots, including three on-goal.

Junior Heather Dean (Renton, WA) scored an unassisted goal in the 30th minute, fooling her defender to the right side and rocketing in a shot inside the left post, to give Stevens a 3-0 halftime advantage.

Freshman Sara Amitrani (Toms River, NJ) added an unassisted score in the 82nd minute for her first collegiate goal. Saturday marked the fifth game she has played in this season.

The Stevens defense was solid throughout, surrendering just three shots the entire match – all in the second half. The Stevens offensive was aggressive, registering 32 shots in the match, including 22 in the first half.

Junior Erica Midttveit (Jackson, NJ) and freshman Melissa Junge (Sunnyvale, CA) each played a half on goal for the Ducks. Middveit started the contest and was not tested, while Junge recorded one save in the final half. The game marked the eighth shutout of the season for the Ducks and the second in Skyline Conference play.

Stevens takes a break from Skyline Conference play, traveling to Ewing, NJ, on Wednesday, Oct. 19, to play The College of New Jersey at 7 p.m.
