RIVERDALE, NY (OCTOBER 19, 2005) – Freshman Summer Hamilton (San Diego, CA) registered seven kills and two blocks to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 shutout over Mount Saint Vincent, Wednesday night. The Ducks won the first game, 30-13, the second game, 30-28, and the third game, 30-18. With the win Stevens improves to 23-5 overall and 6-0 in the conference, while Mount Saint Vincent drops to 10-17 overall and 1-6 in the conference.
Sophomore Dawn Herring (Prince Frederick, MD) contributed six kills and five digs, while freshman Amanda Petrocelli (Norwood, NJ) had four kills and six digs. Freshman Melissa Rhode (New Orleans, LA) totaled five kills and two aces and sophomore Catherine Kim (Jersey City, NJ) added three kills. Senior setter Gina Joyce (Fort Myers, FL) registered 13 assists and two aces, while junior Micki Biltz (Lakewood, OH) added 16 assists. Junior Rachel Ostroff (N. Miami, FL) added 19 digs for the Ducks.
Stevens returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22, when it travels to New York, NY to play Baruch and Hunter. The Ducks first match will begin at 10 a.m.
