Sophomore Theresa Dolan netted five goals and an assist to help lead the Ducks past Rowan.

HOBOKEN, N.J. - Senior midfielder Valerie Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) tallied six goals and an assist to lead the 17th-ranked Stevens women’s lacrosse team past Rowan 13-4 in a women’s lacrosse game on Wednesday afternoon at DeBaun Field.

After picking up its sixth straight win, Stevens improves to 12-2, while Rowan drops to 5-7.

Sophomore midfielder Theresa Dolan (Albertson, N.Y./Mineola) netted five goals and an assist, while freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Roes (Stillwater, N.J./Pope John XXIII) and junior defender Melissa Scott (Barnegat, N.J./Southern Regional) each tallied a goal in the game.  Senior midfielder Kim Mirra (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) added two assists for the Ducks. 

Stevens jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with Barnhart and Dolan netting goals at 28:29 and 26:08.  Junior midfielder Maggie Goodman brought the Profs within one, but Dolan answered back with her second goal of the game to give the Ducks a 3-1 advantage.  Goodman countered with her second goal at 14:10, but the Ducks netted three goals within the last six minutes of the half to take a 6-2 halftime advantage.   

The Ducks opened the second half with five goals within 14 minutes to take a commanding 11-2 lead.  Goodman netted her third goal of the game for Rowan at 10:21.  For the game, Stevens held a 25-20 advantage in shots.

Freshman goaltender Stephanie Linder (Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Regional) made 13 saves for the Ducks.

Stevens is back in action on Saturday, April 23 when it travels to Madison, N.J. to play Drew at 1 p.m.
