HOBOKEN, N.J.  (April 15, 2006)  -  Senior attack Kaity Ryan (Pennington, N.J.) netted four goals and four assists to lead Drew University past the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse team, 14-9, on Saturday afternoon at DeBaun Field in Hoboken, N.J.  With the loss the Ducks drop to 4-8 overall, while the Rangers improve to 9-5 with the win.

Down 8-6 at the break, sophomore attack Liz Mather (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) scored the first goal of the second half to bring Stevens to within one.  Drew scored the next four straight goals within 7:52 to take a commanding 12-7 advantage with under 20 minutes to play.  Sophomore midfielder Lindsay Perno (Medford, N.J.) netted back-to-back tallies and Ryan and junior midfielder Courtney Cunnigham (Garden City, N.Y.) each picked up a goal during the spurt.

Freshman attack Dana Perriello (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Mather totaled goals at the 18:48 and 16:29 marks, but that would be as close as the Ducks would get in the game.  Cunningham and junior attack Makenzie Sandler (Beverly, Mass.) claimed goals within the last two minutes to seal the victory for the Rangers.

Sophomore Stephanie Linder (Eatontown, N.J.) made eight saves in goal for the Ducks.  Senior Casey O’Brien (Oakhurst, N.J.) had 11 for the Rangers.

Freshman midfielder Erinn Hopkins (Monrovia, Md.), Perriello and Mather led the Ducks with two goals apiece.

Stevens is back in action on Wednesday, April 19 when it travels to Glassboro, N.J. to play Rowan University at 6 p.m.
