BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (January 20, 2007) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swim team dropped matches to New York University (75-40) and CW Post (60-50) on Saturday afternoon. Senior Lorrie Brabender (Newark, Del.) led the women with two second-place finishes on the day.
Brabender finished second in both the 200-yard and 100-yard butterfly events with times of 2:14.05 and 1:01.76, respectively. She also earned a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.33.
Sophomore Emily Woo (Lodi, Calif.) competed in the 100-yard an d 200-yard backstroke events and turned in times of 1:06.14 and 2:23.18.
Freshmen Stephanie Miller (Bellebrook, Ohio) and sophomore Nicole Ogrosso (Staten Island, N.Y.) placed in three events for the Ducks, while freshmen Gabrielle Gornelli (Belleville, N.J.) and Ashley Jo-Watson (Kingston, Jamaica) placed in two.
The men’s swim team is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Throggs Neck, N.Y. to compete against Maritime College at 1 p.m.
