HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 13, 2007) – Junior captain Emily Woo and freshman Laura Barito won three races each on Saturday afternoon at the De Baun Aquatic Center as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming rolled past Fairleigh Dickinson by a 101-64 decision. The dual meet also served as the 2007-08 season-opener for both squads.

Woo notched top finishes in the 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:59.98, 2:20.72 and 58.25, respectively. Barito also took home first-place honors for the  200-yard medley relay. On the other hand, she earned first-place points in the 100-yard butterfly with a clocking of 1:02.10 and the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 25.21, which is a new Stevens pool and school record. Barito broke an achievement that was never touched for six years and owned by former Ducks' swimmer in Naomi Chin.

Additionally, Stevens (1-0) received major contributions from junior Nicole Ogrosso and freshman Nicole Ferlo. Ogrosso served up a top clocking of 12:02.15 in the 1,000-yard freestyle while Ferlo posted a winning time of 2:06.91 in the 200-yard freestyle.

The Devils (0-1) were headed by sophomore Lauren Iacono (Staten Island, N.Y.) and freshman Jeanette Hague (Clinton, Conn.). Iacono accumulated first-place points in the 100-yard breaststroke with a clocking of 1:27.25 and Hague garnered second-place accolades in the same event with a time of 1:58.34.

Head Coach Trevor Miele and his squad return to the pool this weekend as they compete in the NYU Fall Invitational. The time for the first event has yet to be announced.
