HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 7, 2007) – Junior forward Meghan Tennyson registered a trio of goals on Wednesday night at the De Baun Athletic Complex as the Stevens Institute of Technology defeated Bard College by a 6-0 decision in the quarterfinals of the 2007 ECAC Division III Women's Metro Soccer Championship. In addition, three other players notched a score while three members of the squad each had a pair of assists. With the win, the Ducks went to 13-4-2 on the year while the Raptors dropped to 13-6-1.

Stevens, which out-shot Bard by a 52-0 count, opened up the scoring in the fifth-minute when senior midfielder Siena York-Carr  scored off a rebound shot by freshman midfielder Mary Chew, which hit the right post. Less than a minute later, Tennyson notched her first tally of the night when York-Carr sent a ball in front of the net that Tennyson chipped into the top-right corner of the netting. Shortly thereafter, the Ducks took a 3-0 lead when senior back/midfielder Cristina Fulgencio put a pass by freshman back/forward Katria Misilo into the top shelf of the cage. Tennyson capped off the first-half scoring for Stevens in the 29th-minute as she headed a ball under the crossbar. Chew and York-Carr were credited with the assists.

In the second half, Tennyson brought the hat trick to fruition in the 83rd-minute when she dribbled a ball in by herself and placed it into the lower right corner of the net. The ensuing minute, junior back Hope Fulgencio put the final touch on the scoreboard for the Ducks when she struck a 10-yard shot into the right side of the cage off a feed from Misilo.

Freshman Jenn Pontier and sophomore Sherri Rosenberg faced no shots to combine for the shutout for Stevens. Bard senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Herber (Scottsdale, Ariz.) made 14 saves.

Head Coach Jeff Parker and the top-seeded Ducks return to action this Saturday when they host fifth-seeded Ramapo College in the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament.
