(September 21, 2007) – Sophomore John Barnes finished first (13:32) in the 4k out of 29 runners that competed in the 12th annual Stevens Institute of Technology Cross Country Invitational held at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J. Stevens' men's finished first overall in both the 4k and 8k races as 13 collegiate schools participated in this year's competition.

Head Coach John Crawford had this to add:

“Both our teams had outstanding performances having produced a great tempo early on in today's competition. If I had to pick one athlete that ran a superb race and kept to that tempo, it would have to be Travis Heithoff.”
