HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 16, 2010) – Honored as a part of Stevens women's soccer's graduating class prior to the match, seniors Mary Chew and Kathryn Stascavage each tallied a point to lead the Ducks to a 4-0 Senior Day rout of Empire 8 rival Utica College at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, N.J. With the win Stevens improved to 12-2-1 overall on the season with a 4-2-0 league ledger, while the Pioneers fell to 2-8-2 on the year with a 1-3-2 record against conference opponents.

The Ducks looked to apply much of the pressure early, firing three shots over the first 10 minutes of action, before freshman Bridgette Barden broke through with her fifth marker of the season at the 10:06 mark. Playing on the right side, the freshman phenom ripped a shot from 20-yards out past Pioneers' freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Simonds (Sidney, N.Y.) to stake Stevens to a 1-0 margin.

Minutes later at the 14:53 mark, Chew put the Ducks up two with her third goal of the season. The veteran midfielder would track down a through-ball before firing a shot toward goal that was blocked down by the Utica backline. Unfazed, Chew re-grouped, corralling the rebound before slipping it past Simonds for the Ducks' second goal of the afternoon.

Looking to build on the momentum, junior Kathleen Schuckers notched her sixth-goal of year in the 22nd minute, upping the Stevens margin to three. The heady forward made a run down the left-side before slipping a Utica defender with a crossover – creating a one-on-one situation with Simonds – before skillfully sliding the ball into the lower righthand corner of the Pioneers' goal.

Hoping to climb back into the match, Utica would record a pair of shots in the 40th minute, but neither threatened the Ducks' net as Stevens took a 3-0 lead and 12-3 shot advantage into the break.

Stevens looked for more of the same in the second half, again going on the offensive, firing a pair of shots in the first 20 minutes of the stanza before netting their fourth tally in the 75th minute. Stascavage led freshman Britttany Odgers  with a pass into the box from the leftside before the Roseland, N.J. native launched a shot into to lower lefthand corner from 16-yards out.

Down the stretch, Pioneers' senior midfielder Emily Young (Lowville, N.Y.) would test Stevens' sophomore goalkeeper Teegan Kelly – who replaced junior Kaitlin McClymont at the start of the second half – with three shots, but the Charlton, N.Y. native smothered each try, holding the Utica attack at bay.

Stevens, which finished with a 15-8 shot advantage, return to action on Wednesday, October 20 when it hosts Ramapo College.
