INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 6, 2010) – The No. 10 Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team is ranked nationally in several statistical categories, the NCAA announced in its latest national ranking summary released on Tuesday afternoon. The Ducks, who are 7-1 overall and coming off two dominating conference wins this past weekend, take on Empire 8 rival Hartwick College on Tuesday afternoon in Oneonta, N.Y.
As a team, the Ducks are 12th in winning percentage, 17th in caused turnovers per game (11.88), and 20th in scoring defense, allowing just 7.5 goals against per contest. Stevens is also 27th in scoring margin, outscoring their opponents by 6.25 goals per game.
Senior captain Shannon McFadden (Baltimore, Md.) is 19th in the nation in goals-against average (7.97) and 31st in save percentage (.510), while junior captain Kate Cox (Aston, Pa.) is 26th in caused turnovers per game, averaging 2.38.
Stevens has outscored its last two opponents by a combined margin of 38-10. Opening draw against Hartwick is slated for 4 p.m.
