(January 22, 2011) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team posted an unblemished 5-0 record at Saturday's meet hosted by the United States Military Academy to raise their record to 11-3 on the year. Freshman epeeist Sienna Batzli won all nine of her bouts to lead the Ducks in their first competition of 2011.

Other stars at epee included senior captain Meagan Ritter and sophomore Krystal Perkins, who each logged only one loss each against 13 and 12 wins, respectively.
In foil, junior Alexis Clyburn finished 10-2 with classmates Alexandra Lyons (9-4) and Ann DeStefano (7-4) having very solid records as well.
Juliet Turalski and Krista Sticco had good days, with Turalski earning 13 wins and Sticco 12, with both fencers losing only twice at the tournament. Sophomore Chelsea Shupe also had a good day at 3-3.
Stevens defeated Hunter College, Queens College, City College of New York, Virginia Tech and host Army for its five victories.
The Ducks will return to action in one week when they head to the University of New Hampshire on January 29.
