No. 10 Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 5 Gettysburg, 13-8

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 14, 2011) – The 10th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team fell to No. 5 Gettysburg College, 13-8, on Monday afternoon in Orlando, Fla. Stevens (1-1 overall) received four goals from senior Pamela Loria, but the Bullets were able to limit the Ducks to one tally over the game's final 30 minutes.

The Ducks played Gettysburg (3-0 overall) very tight in the first half, going into the intermission down by a score of 9-7, but were stuck on the defensive side of the field for most of the second half.

Sophomore goalkeeper Meg Collins was solid between the pipes for Stevens, making eight second-half saves, while sophomore Joey Galligan, junior Jenna Scheibling, sophomore Spencer Waybright, and freshman Kara Rafferty all notched one goal apiece.

Stevens will return to action in Orlando on Tuesday at 2 p.m. when it faces the Claremont Mudd Scripps.
