HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 13, 2012) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team raised its record to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in the Empire 8 Conference with a 4-0 shutout victory over Utica College on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Ducks completed a perfect weekend for Stevens Athletics during Homecoming Weekend on Castle Point. Stevens dominated the Pioneers from the opening kick-off of the match and never looked back to post its second-straight shutout.
In the last two conference shutout wins, the Ducks have outscored their opponents, 9-0. Stevens also handed Utica sixth consecutive loss, four of which the Pioneers were held off the scoreboard.
Four different Stevens student-athletes tallied goals in the win, while three others picked up assists.
Junior back
Lindsay Stoll (Bellevue, Wash.) netted her third goal of the season and first game-winner in the sixth minute off a short centering pass at the top of the box from fellow Washingtonian, sophomore forward
Ann Heine (Sammamish, Wash.). Heine dished out her third assist this year to tie for the team-lead with four other Ducks.

Georgia Johnson (Freehold, N.J.) tipped a free ball service from senior back
Paige Allen (Manalapan, N.J.) past Utica's goalkeeper for the second marker of the contest. Allen took the kick from 30 yards out and found Johnson on the doorstep for the wide open goal.
Just six minutes later, junior forward
Kyle Stephens (Lansing, Mich.) sent a cross in from deep in the offensive zone and hooked into the goal for the third and final tally of the first half. Senior forward
Gia Gonzales (Encinitas, Ariz.) earned her first point of the season with the helper.
Stevens' final goal of the match came from freshman back
Adrianna Herrera (Middle Village, N.Y.) for her first collegiate points. Herrera put home a loose ball in front of the net in the 64th minute.
Junior
Melissa Murphy (Pompton Plains, N.J.) picked up her third victory of the season in 45 minutes of action with one save. Freshman
Evelyn Ting (Gaithersburg, Md.) played the final 45 minutes of the match and also made one stop.
The Ducks took 30 shots in the game, compared to just three for Utica. Over the last 180 minutes of action, Stevens has outshot its opposition, 58-5.
Stevens will return to the pitch for a non-conference showdown against No. 21 The College of New Jersey on October 17 in Ewing, N.J. at 7:30 p.m.
Four team played at home this weekend, as three squads honors their seniors. Women's volleyball swept Hunter College last night, field hockey dropped Hartwick College this morning and men's soccer came back to defeat Elmira College before the women's soccer game.
