INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 5, 2012) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team was well-represented as the NCAA released its first statistical compilation of the 2012-13 season on Wednesday. The Ducks were in the Top-20 of four team categories and Maggie Kowalska (Edison, N.J.) and Dylan Krause (Atlanta, Ga.) combined for three appearances in the Top-100 individually.

Most impressively, the Ducks rank seventh in blocked shots per game with 6.2 per contest. They are led by Kowalska, whose average of two blocks per game is the 43rd-best total in the country.

Stevens is also 14th nationally in defensive field goal percentage, currently holding its opponents to 29 percent shooting from the floor. The Ducks are also 15th in 3pt-FG defense (18%) and are 18th in rebound margin (+12 rebounds per game).

In the last category, Kowalska again is among the national leaders, ranking 89th in the nation with nearly 10 rebounds per contest.

Krause ranks highest of any Stevens player in an individual category; the freshman boasts the 21st-best free-throw percentage in the nation and has hit 93 percent of her shots from the line.

Stevens will hit the hardwood again on Friday with the first Empire 8 game of the year, a 6 p.m. tilt at Utica College.
