RADNOR, Pa. (September 25, 2012) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team improved to 6-4 overall with a 3-1 road win over Cabrini College Wednesday night in Radnor, Pa. Stevens received goals from sophomore midfielder Jill Fiebel (Roxbury, N.J.), junior midfielder Chelsea Cresci (Wilmington, Del.) and junior forward Marguerite Chavez (Oceanport, N.J.). Senior goalie Kaitlin McClymont (Corpus Christi, Texas) made four saves to earn the win in goal for the Ducks.

All three of the Stevens goals were unassisted with the Ducks jumping on top 1-0 in the 15th minute when Cresci notched her third of the season and second in the last three games. Freshman Kerry Anne Farrell (Drexel Hill, Pa.) tied it up for the Cavaliers three minutes later, and the two teams went into the intermission tied at one.

Fiebel scored her second of the season in the 50th minute to give Stevens the lead for good, netting a shot from the right side of the circle. Chavez gave Stevens some much-needed insurance at 57:38 when she put in a rebound for her team-high 10th goal of the season. She has now scored in five-straight games, and the Ducks are 4-1 over that span.

Stevens ended with an 18-12 advantage in shots and an 11-9 margin in penalty corners. McClymont made four saves in the win, while junior Genevieve Paulin (Hazlet, N.J.) stopped nine shots for the hosts. The Ducks also snapped a four-game winning streak for the Cavaliers after they started the season 0-4.

Stevens has won four of its last five outings and will return to action on Saturday when it hosts Nazareth College at 11 a.m. in a key Empire 8 showdown. All the action will be webcast live at www.Empire8.tv from the De Baun Athletic Complex and the game will be field hockey's Duck Country event.
