EWING, N.J. (January 27, 2013) – The No. 6 Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team defeated No. 9 The College of New Jersey Sunday afternoon in Ewing, N.J. by a tight 148-140 final. With the win, the Ducks improved to 3-1 overall.

Jennifer Rutledge (Suwanee, Ga.) started the meet with a winning time of 1:50.71 in the 200-yard medley relay, with rookie
Elizabeth Heinbach (Cincinnati, Ohio) getting a first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:48.99). Senior
Victoria Baldwin (The Woodlands, Texas) earned a third in the 1,000, clocking an 11:04.07.

Marissa Douglas (Cumberland, R.I.) made it three-straight firsts when she turned in a 1:57.46 in the 200-yard freestyle, and Moores made it four in a row with her 58.60 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Geyer placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a 1:08.02, with Heinbach earning her second win of the day with a 2:14.81 in the 200-yard butterfly. Rooker and sophomore
Maria McClure (Pequannock, N.J.) took second and third (2:18.98, 2:19.77).
Moores and Rutledge went two-three in the 50-yard freestyle (24.48, 25.13), with sophomore
April Lawson (Coronado, Calif.) and Rutledge taking the top-two spots in the 100-yard freestyle, touching at 54.61 and 54.88, respectively.

Megan Lisbon (Woodbridge, Va.) were second and third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.19, 2:13.20), and Geyer was second in the 200-yard breaststroke, notching a 2:26.23.
Heinbach's third win of the afternoon came in the 500-yard freestyle (5:15.91), and Moores tallied her third victory with a 59.16 in the 100-yard butterfly. Douglas and Geyer earned a big first and second in the 200-yard individual medley, touching at 2:10.89 and 2:14.84, with the team of Rooker, senior
Allison Henning (Idaho Falls, Idaho), Lawson and Rutledge getting the second place they needed to seal the meet win in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The group carded a 3:40.37.
The Ducks' eight-point win in the annual dual-meet between the two nationally-ranked teams came a year after the Lions earned a 133-129 win in Hoboken.
In total the Ducks earned wins in nine events on Sunday and will return to action with a dual at Hartwick College February 2. It will be the last dual-meet of the year and afterwards Stevens will begin preparations for the Empire 8 Championships in late-February.
