During this current winning streak, Stevens (6-2 overall, 3-0 Empire 8) has outscored its foes 22-9 and is averaging 4.4 goals per game.

Last year, Stevens fell in Hoboken to the then-10th-ranked Red Hawks by a 3-2 final in an extremely well-played contest. This year, MSU comes into the contest as the No. 1 team in the land at 9-0 overall. The Red Hawks have allowed just five goals against all season, while scoring 46 of their own.
