On the morning of September 22nd, 2013, the Stevens Triathlon woke up in Westport, MA to a storm. Eagerly awaiting news from the Race Director, we discovered that the swim was considered too dangerous as it was in the ocean, and our Triathlon became a Duathlon. This race had a 1.8 mile run, a 12 mile bike, and then a second 5k run. The Stevens Men's team came in 8th and the women's team came in 5th in the collegiate division.

Luke Niezelski, the top male finisher came in 10th in the male collegiate division with a 1:00:18, while our second highest placer, Jack Rees came in 34th, with a 1:06:10. Other participants were Henry Hernandez in 60th, Jonathan Collins in 73rd, Terrance Brennan in 76th, and Nick Noga in 78th. Unfortunately, Thomas Loop did not finish due to a bike issue.

Megan Lisbon was the top female finisher, with a 1:10:07, in 6th place in the female collegiate division. Elizabeth Heinbach came in 10th with a 1:12:29. This was also the first race with the team for Becca Dunn, who finished with a 1:30:49. Other finishers were Nicole Miller in 27th, Anne Fodor in 30th, Natalie Fitz in 50th.

Next weekend, September 29th, 2013 is the final race of the season, Westchester. We have 14 people going. This is the team's last chance to get points toward our nationals placing, this year to be held in Tempe, Arizona again.
