HOUGHTON, N.Y. (October 18, 2014) – Behind a first half goal from sophomore
Patrick Masur, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team blanked Houghton College Saturday afternoon 1-0.
The win moved Stevens' record to 10-3-1 (5-0-0) while Houghton dropped to 5-8-1 (1-3-1).
Both teams traded possessions through the first 10 minutes before Houghton senior Kevin Miranda unleashed a shot in the 11
th minute that was saved by sophomore goalie
Mike Renna. Houghton managed one more shot in the 14
th minute that went wide before Stevens got on the board late in the half.

rd minute, Masur headed a shot past sophomore goalie Jacob Dunnett for the score. The goal was the second of the season for Masur while Conner picked up his third assist.
The Ducks took the lead into the break despite being outshot 3-1.
The lead held up for the Ducks through the second half after saves from Renna in the 67
th, 74
th, and 78
th minutes. Masur was able to unleash a second shot in the 81
st minute, but Dunnett was there for the save.
Renna made four saves in his sixth shutout of the season, giving the Ducks eight total for the year. As a program, Stevens is now 32-2-2 in the month of October since 2010.
The match also marked the second time Stevens has been outshot this season.
