POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (November 9, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team went 5-3 Sunday in the annual Vassar Invitational.
The one day event was held at the Walker Field House on the campus of Vassar College.
As a team, the Ducks picked up wins over Yeshiva University, Wellesley College, The City College of New York, Vassar, and Lafayette College. Of the Ducks three losses, two of them came against Division I opponents in Sacred Heart University and Cornell University.
Senior Sienna Batzil led Ducks at epee with an 18-4 day while freshman
Erin Hatcher finished second at 11-6.

Abby Kaye paced Stevens at foil with a 19-2 record including a 3-0 record against Cornell. Elsewhere, senior
Taia Harrison went 13-7 while junior
Caroleen Chen followed at 12-9.
Junior
Zoe To led the Ducks at sabre going 16-7.
With two major tournaments now in the books, the Ducks will take a break from completion before returning to the strips on Dec. 7 with the NIWFA Christmas Invitational in Piscataway, N.J.
