HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 27, 2014)
 – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team – featured in several areas of the latest NCAA statistical rankings release – will hit the road for a pair of conference contests Friday and Saturday afternoon.

Stevens will take on E8 foe Utica College at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium Friday at 4 p.m. and then travel to Elmira College to battle the Soaring Eagles Saturday at 3 p.m. The Ducks are coming off a 14-9 conference win at Hartwick College last Saturday to move to 3-5 overall and 1-0 in the Empire 8.

Utica is 4-1 overall and has yet to play a conference game. The Pioneers dropped their season-opener to Oswego back on March 1, but have won four-straight games since March 5. Utica has displayed strong defense all year, allowing 10 or more scores just twice, and also holds a plus-12 scoring margin.

Elmira is coming off a tough loss to No. 17 Ithaca College. The Soaring Eagles are 3-4 overall (0-1 Empire 8), having won two of their first three games before dropping 2-of-3.

The Ducks are leading the conference and are 33rd nationally in draw controls per game (14.75), also topping the conference in points with 131. Individually, freshman Kathleen Kalbian (Cheshire, Conn.) is second in the conference in caused turnovers per game (2.5) and draw controls per game (4.75). Sophomore Erika Wilcox (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) leads the Empire 8 in goals (24), goals per game (3.00), points (32) and points per game (4.00), while senior Kara Rafferty (Bayshore, N.Y.) is No. 3 in the conference in goals (20) and is second in points (27).
