BROCKPORT, N.Y. (September 14, 2014) – Five players recorded points, and the Stevens Institute of Technology defense picked up its first shutout of the season as the Ducks earned a 4-0 non-conference field hockey win at Brockport Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Stevens evens its record at 3-3 (0-1 Empire 8). Brockport drops to 1-5 on the season in defeat.

Stevens dominated from start-to-finish, ending the contest with a heavy advantage on the scoreboard and on the stat sheet. The Ducks were plus-17 in shots (29-12), putting 19 on goal, and held a better-than-two-to-one advantage in penalty corners (11-5).

All four Stevens goals were assisted, with four different players notching tallies. The first came from sophomore Nolie Prouty (Glendora, Calif.) and was assisted by sophomore Maggie Kulpa (Cheshire, Conn.) after a scramble in front of the cage at 8:29. It was Prouty's second score of the year and the first helper for Kulpa.

The Ducks pushed their lead to three with goals separated by just 90 seconds late in the first half (25:04, 26:34). Junior Dailyn Brook (Cherry Hill, N.J.) put home her fourth goal of the year thanks to a Prouty assist, and freshman Victoria Alvarez (Pine Beach, N.J.) put home her team-high sixth of the year when Silvestri found her inside the circle.

Stevens' final goal of the game came with 6:29 on the clock when senior Jillian Fiebel (Roxbury, N.J.) received a pass from Silvestri after a Brook insert from a penalty corner. It was the first goal of the season for the Duck veteran.

The Ducks received goals from four different players, with all four tallies earning assists as well. Sophomore goalie Emily Stukenborg (Stockholm, N.J.) recorded seven saves in goal to earn the shutout and her third win of the season.

The Ducks will look to get over the .500 mark on Wednesday night when they welcome FDU-Florham to the DeBaun Athletic Complex at 7 p.m.
